Is Nico Rosberg Doomed?

Nico Rosberg must have been on an emotional roller coaster this off season. He was on a high when named a driver at Brawn and then on a low when Schumacher came out of retirement.

Nico Rosberg is an enigma. He is either a great driver who has never had a good car or a driver with a great last name that gets far more credit than he should. In short, he sounds just like Jenson Button before 2009. Given this, he must have been smacking his lips in anticipation when he picked up Jenso’s old drive at Brawn. Surely a World Championship was staring him in the face!


Not…so…quick.

Micheal Schumacher has come out of retirement. It was always believed that he was given a firm nudge out of Ferrari, but it has now become just how firm that was. Given the chance, he has jumped on the opportunity to join Ross Brawn, his long time partner in the world of winning championships. The two masters are together again and that can only mean one thing – Nico Rosberg is doomed.

Nico’s bright future has turned into a hurricane. Rubens Barrichello is already telling Nico through the press that he needs to get out of the new Mercedes ride. After spending endless years as Schumacher’s number two at Ferrari, the man knows what he is talking about.



Let’s face it. The chances of Nico becoming a champion at Mercedes while Schumacher is there are slight to say the least. Expect him to get out of there as fast as humanely possible after the 2010 season.
